Project Description:

KMB provided architectural services for the new Early Learning Center that serves over 320 preschoolers ages 3 to 5. The project utilized the design-build method of delivery, which allowed the renovation and remodel to be designed and built in less than one year to meet the school district’s aggressive schedule. Leaving only the roof and wood studs at the exterior walls, the building was totally rebuilt to meet current building codes.

Programs at the center teach early literacy, math, and social skills as well as preparing preschoolers to manage their own behavior and become more independent. The center houses a variety of programs, including the federally funded Head Start, state-funded ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program), a developmental preschool taught by special-education teachers, and a preschool that includes a mix of mainstream and disabled students.
